Hot Club of Winnebago is what happens when two Wisconsin-born musicians, a country guitarist and a jazz artist, meet in the middle to build the swingin'-est band around. The result blends gypsy jazz, western swing and the blues, all carried by the vehicle of a hot club string band. It starts with the essential jazz manouche of 1930s Paris, then tosses in some American country roots and an electric guitar, and what you get is a sound that folks from every walk of life can connect with and dance to.
On the bandstand, that means a versatile lead vocalist who's equal parts blues singer and crooner and can drop a soaring trumpet solo, a gritty electric country-blues guitarist grounded in the sophisticated language of jazz, and a Django-style rhythm guitarist driving the band. You'll find us playing festivals, breweries, wineries, cocktail bars, supper clubs and private events across Wisconsin, from full stages with a roaring crowd to cozy corners where the room can still talk over dinner.
